I cannot believe that we are already in March! Wow.

Everything at Tri-Valley is in full swing. I am teaching 7 of 8 classes (I take that last class over in week 9), coaching students for the next public speaking contest in March, and attending local rotary, alumni, and 4-H livestock meetings. I feel that I am absolutely getting the full "Ag Teacher" experience during my time here at Tri-Valley and have had a great time thus far. No doubt, there have been some days that are harder than others, but I know that I am my own worst critic.

Week 8 was really fun!

Here's why:

1. FFA Fun Night with the Upper Dauphin FFA Chapter

This was an absolutely AMAZING night and a rejuvenating experience! It was a night filled with pizza, macaroni and cheese, a corn-hole tournament, and many intense games of dodge-ball. We were able to have a great time of fellowship with the Upper Dauphin Ag Teachers and students from both schools were able to hang-out and get to know each other as well. Nights like this are good for the soul, and it sure was.

2. "Big" Inquiry Labs

Since starting student-teaching I have done some small lab activities that were leading to some "big" labs that I have been doing the past couple of weeks. These activities add a whole new dimension to the way I teach, adding a hands-on component that the students enjoy and can deepen their understanding of content knowledge. I will be continuing these labs through the remaining time that I have at Tri-Valley so that I can learn how to better implement them and make them more successful.

The next two weeks will be very busy as I teach the entire schedule, but I am excited to learn and tackle the next mountain!
